Metamorphosing

Theatre Production
Choreographer & Movement Director

'Metamorphosing' is a performance about adapting to physical change, caused by natural, traumatic, social or technological consequences. The performance co-opts Kafka's Metamorphosis to tell the story of Iddo Gruengard's post-traumatic experience after a spinal cord injury which left him in a wheelchair. Three characters, each struggling with their own metamorphosis, intertwine into a performance based on movement - as one doctor oversees them. Performed in Studio Theatre (CSM) & Camden People’s Theatre.

Review from Views from the Gods
"Pacione's very physical performance is disturbingly powerful, and undoubtedly one of the more compelling aspects of the play. The flipside though is that with movement director Kat Leung bringing so much to the party, you do question whether the already light dialogue is even necessary, or if those words should instead be conveyed with more movement and music."

Review from Everything Theatre
"There are some excellently choreographed movement performances with good physical discipline from the actors."
