Katherine Leung is a British born dance artist, designer and performance maker of half Chinese and half Scottish descent.
Dance and installation design are her two chosen mediums for her artistic expression, originally trained as a dancer in classical ballet and contemporary dance in Hong Kong and London. She went on to pursue her passion in her artistic expression through creating performance, studying a Masters in Performance Design and Practice at Central Saint Martins, London.
Since then, her independent work mainly utilises these two mediums to investigate and challenge the reception of themes and concepts. She has collaborated with various artists across different disciplines within her work. She has experience in devising and creating original productions overseas in collaboration with over 30 different artists in United Kingdom (London), Greece (Athens), Italy (Ancona/Polverigi) and Germany (Berlin).
She is currently living in Berlin, and has worked on and shown productions in different venues across Europe. With extensive knowledge through the various roles both on and offstage in the process of production making from beginning to end.
She has currently taken an interest in the multiple possibilities of dance in film, interactive installation and public participatory art.
